4 kinds of expectation
Genesis 18:14-15 (KJV) Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
Jeremiah 32:17 (KJV) Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
Mark 9:23 (KJV)
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
(MSG) Jesus said, "If? There are no 'ifs' among believers. Anything can happen."
4 kinds of expectation:
1. Negative expectation.
2. Neutral expectation.
3. Misguided expectation.
Your faith can decide your miracle, but your faith cannot decide how God's going to work your miracle.
A major cause of spiritual burn out is misguided expectations. When people don’t see the results that they expected to see, when they expected to see them it causes frustration.
People give with the wrong expectations.
People serve with the wrong expectations.
People do things for others with wrong expectations.
Romans 12:8 …he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity;…
1 Timothy 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, …
Psalms 62:1-2 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
Psalms 62:5 (KJV) My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Psalms 62:6 (KJV) He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
4. Positive expectation
Woman with the issue of blood
Mark 5:25-34 (KJV) And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
This woman did 4 things that shows us what positive expectation looks like.
"If anybody, anywhere, will put these four principles into operation, he will always receive, not only healing, but whatever he wants from Me or from God the Father."
1. The first thing she did was SAY IT.
Mark 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
2. Then she acted on that faith and pressed through the crowd and touched Jesus.
Mark 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
3. She received and felt the power of God make her well.
Mark 5:29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
4. She told it.
Mark 5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Ephesians1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head (or Lord) over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
AMP Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].
Jesus was put above all things so He could fill all things with Himself.
Ephesians 4:10-12 (KJV) 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
AMP... that He [His presence] might fill all things (the whole universe, from the lowest to the highest).
NLT ...so that he might fill the entire universe with himself.
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
You can receive healing or anything else you need right now where you are, by faith.
When your expectation is on God you will begin to experience God’s presence, help and provision.
