Mark 10:46-52

GOD ALWAYS WANTS TO INTERRUPT YOUR PLANS

VS. 46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging.

VS 47 When he HEARD that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

·      BARTIMAEUS COULDN’T SEE BUT HE COULD HEAR!

1.   DON’T GET SO CAUGHT UP IN WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE YOU FORGET WHAT YOU DO HAVE!

·      'Romans 12:6-8 'We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

' Ephesians 2:10 'For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Vs. 48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

2.   WE MUST CRY OUT TO HIM

 HIS DESIRE OUTWEIGHED THEIR DISCOURAGEMENT!

·      HE WASN’T SHOUTING AT THEM; HE WAS SHOUTING TO JESUS!

3.   WE MUST BE PERSISTENT

HEBREWS 11:6 SAYS, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

HEBREWS 10:35-36 SAYS, “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.  For you have need of endurance so that you will continue God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.”

Vs. 49 JESUS STOPPED AND SAID, “CALL HIM.”

VS49 SO THEY CALLED TO THE BLIND MAN, “CHEER UP! ON YOUR FEET! HE’S CALLING YOU.”

Vs. 50 THROWING HIS CLOAK ASIDE, HE JUMPED TO HIS FEET AND CAME TO JESUS.

Vs. 51 “WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO FOR YOU?” JESUS ASKED HIM.

THE BLIND MAN SAID MY “RABBI, I WANT TO SEE.”

·      Rabboni means My master (Lord)

4.   YOU BETTER KNOW WHAT YOU WANT

John 14:13  “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

Vs. 52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
