Thanks Through Every Season
Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
1 CHRONICLES 16:34
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!”
JAMES 1:17
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from God.
1. REGULARLY PRACTICE GIVING THANKS.
PSALM 34:1
I WILL BLESS THE LORD AT ALL TIMES, HIS PRAISE WILL CONTINUALLY BE IN MY MOUTH
2. EXPRESS GRATITUDE REGARDLESS OF THE SITUATION.
(1 Thess. 5:18) 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
A.W. Tozer says, “Perhaps it takes a purer faith to praise God for unrealized blessings than for those we once enjoyed or those we enjoy now.”
(Isaiah 40:31)
“Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.”
3. PRAISE GOD WHEN ALL IS WELL.
Psalm 126:3) “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
(2 CORINTHIANS 9:8-11)msg.
8-11 God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.
As one psalmist puts it,
He throws caution to the winds,
giving to the needy in reckless abandon.
His right-living, right-giving ways
never run out, never wear out.
This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.
4. LEARN TO SEE HOW BAD EXPERIENCES CAN PRODUCE GOOD OUTCOMES.
JAMES 1:2-4
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
(JOB 1:21) “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
5. MAKE GRATITUDE A PART OF YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PEOPLE.
Rick Warren -To appreciate means to raise in value.
