Faith For Now

Aug 1, 2021    Pastor Bracken Christian

1 Cor 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

TPT 13 Until then, there are three things that remain: faith, hope, and love…

3 INGREDIENTS VITAL TO THIS LIFE IN THE HERE AND NOW.

LOVE OF COURSE IS THE GREATEST
MESS 14:1 Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it—because it does.

HOPE IS VITAL BECAUSE IT’S CONNECTED TO YOUR EXPECTATION.
Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FAITH AND HOPE IS SUBSTANCE.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction (EVIDENCE) of things not seen.

FAITH IS LOCATED IN THE HEART. HOPE IS OF THE SOUL (MIND)

1 Thess 5:8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

FAITH IS VITAL BECAUSE WITHOUT IT WE CANNOT PLEASE GOD.

2 Cor 5:1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, 3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked. 4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. 6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight—

FAITH IN THE NOW MEANS; I’M WILLING TO BE CONTENT NOT TO SEE.

FAITH RELATES TO TWO ETERNAL, INVISIBLE REALITIES: TO GOD HIMSELF AND TO HIS WORD.

GOD HAS GIVEN EVERY MAN A MEASURE OF FAITH
Rom 12:3 God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

HOW DOES FAITH COME?
Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

FAITH IS TO AFFECT EVERYTHING WE DO BECAUSE IT’S A LIFESTYLE

Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

WE HAVE NO REAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD APART FROM HIS WORD

Vs 6 2 WORDS FAITH AND BELIEVE…
FAITH IS A NOUN, BELIEVE IS A VERB

BELIEVING IS EXERCISING FAITH. EXERCISING FAITH IS BELIEVING.

THE OPPOSITE OF FAITH IS? “UNBELIEF”… A NOUN.

I CAN HAVE FAITH AND IT IS DORMANT. JAMES CALLS IT DEAD FAITH.

James 2:14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?

17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. 18 But someone may well say, “you have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe that God is one. You do well; The demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?

26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

A PERSON WHO TRULY BELIEVES WILL BE CHANGED BY WHAT THEY BELIEVE.

2 Tim 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day, longing to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy. For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.

6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of god which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

16 In addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

“FAITH OPENS THE DOOR TO THE SUPERNATUAL” (Kenneth Hagin)

TPT Rom 12:25 Jesus’ God-given destiny was to be the sacrifice to take away sins, and now he is our mercy seat because of his death on the cross. We come to him for mercy, for God has made a provision for us to be forgiven by faith in the sacred blood of Jesus.
