1) JONAH — HERE I AM… I’M NOT GOING

2) MOSES — HERE I AM… SEND SOMEONE ELSE

Exodus 3:10–11 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

YOUR ‘WHO AM I?’ IS ANSWERED BY ‘I AM.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO FULLY SURRENDER TO GOD? 

1) A GENUINE EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Isaiah 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.

2) A GENUINE AWARENESS OF YOUR SINFULNESS

Isaiah 6:5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

THE CLOSER YOU GET TO GOD, THE LESS IMPRESSIVE YOU LOOK TO YOURSELF.

3) A GENUINE UNDERSTANDING OF GOD’S GRACE

Isaiah 6:6–7 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.”

WHEN YOU’VE SEEN HIS GLORY, FELT YOUR SIN, AND RECEIVED HIS GRACE —‘SEND ME’ IS THE ONLY LOGICAL RESPONSE.

BIG IMPACT USUALLY STARTS WITH SMALL OBEDIENCE.
