Gwrd Pray in the spirit in every situation...
Prayer can cover every area of your life.
1 Cor 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware. (Ignorant)
1 Cor 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
There’s a distinguishing between the understanding and the spirit.
Prov 20:27 The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, Searching all the innermost parts of his being.
You are a spirit and God is a spirit and the Father of Spirits.
Vs 27... Young’s literal – “The breath of man (is) a lamp of Jehovah, searching all the inner parts of the heart.
The Word “Spirit” Ruack in the Hebrew or Pneuma in the Greek...
Both of those words mean; air... wind... or Breath... or Spirit
John 3:1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus *said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Gen 2:7 Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathedinto his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
The spirit is inseparable from the breath
If you don’t know what the spirit it... that you are a spirit... the Holy Spirit is in you... you won’t even look in the right place,
James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
NCV - just as a person’s body that does not have a spirit is dead, so faith that does nothing is dead.
Luke 23:46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.” Having said this, He breathed His last.
YLT and having cried with a loud voice, Jesus said, `Father, to Thy hands I commit my spirit;' and these things having said, he breathed forth the spirit.
The key... we want to pray not just out of our head, but with our spirit.
Your spirit is connected to your breath.
Praying in the spirit is as close as the source of your breath.
John 3:7 Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The windblows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
YLT 8 the Spirit where he willeth doth blow, and his voice thou dost hear, but thou hast not known whence he cometh, and whither he goeth; thus is every one who hath been born of the Spirit.'
John 20:19 So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be with you.” 20 And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Sounds kind of like Genesis.
1 Cor 14:15 What is the outcome then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also.
