CHRIST ABOVE EVERYTHING

Colossians 4:1–6

1. IF JESUS IS YOUR LORD, IT WILL CHANGE HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE

COLOSSIANS 4:1

WE CANNOT BUILD SOMETHING FOR JESUS WHILE IGNORING THE CHARACTER OF JESUS.

2. DON'T JUST PRAY WHEN YOU'RE IN TROUBLE

COLOSSIANS 4:2

CONTINUE IN PRAYER

IF PRAYER ONLY SHOWS UP WHEN TROUBLE SHOWS UP, YOUR PRAYER LIFE WILL ALWAYS BE CONTROLLED BY YOUR PROBLEMS.

 KEEP ALERT/REMAIN WATCHFUL

A PRAYING CHRISTIAN DOESN'T JUST TALK TO GOD ABOUT LIFE. A PRAYING CHRISTIAN LEARNS TO PAY                  ATTENTION TO LIFE WITH GOD.

GIVE THANKS

A church that wants to see God move must never lose its commitment to seek God.

3. PRAY FOR OPEN DOORS, NOT JUST EASY ROADS

COLOSSIANS 4:3–4

Don't spend your whole prayer life asking God to get you out of a situation when He may want to use you right in the middle of it.

The gospel isn't just something we gather to hear. It's a message we're sent to carry.

4. LIVE LIKE THE WORLD IS WATCHING

COLOSSIANS 4:5

WE ARE CALLED TO REACH THE WORLD, NOT RUN FROM IT. & TO LOVE THE WORLD WITHOUT BECOMING LIKE IT.

DON'T WASTE THE MOMENTS GOD GIVES YOU WAITING FOR THE OPPORTUNITIES YOU WISH YOU HAD.

YOUR MISSION FIELD ISN'T ALWAYS SOMEWHERE YOU TRAVEL TO. SOMETIMES IT'S THE PLACE GOD HAS ALREADY SENT YOU.

5. SPEAK THE TRUTH WITH GRACE

COLOSSIANS 4:6

5 challenges from paul (graphic)

Our treatment of people: Am I treating people with fairness, humility, and Christlike character?

Our prayer life: Am I continuing in prayer, remaining watchful, and giving thanks?

Our mission: Am I praying for open doors to make Jesus known?

Our daily walk: Am I living wisely and making the most of the opportunities God gives me?

Our speech: Do my words reflect grace, truth, and the character of Jesus?
