Equipped with a vision from God and a commandment to go into all the world, Pastor Bracken and Donna Christian founded Harvest Church in June of 1992.  The initial name was Church On The Go, and recently changed to Harvest Church.  Harvest Church is established on the authority and integrity of God’s Word and the potential for every Christian to live a victorious and abundant life through faith.

The church initially began with a few people meeting in Pastor Bracken and Donna’s living room until a small church facility on the current campus became available for rent two months later.   The church expanded into adjacent space as it grew and eventually added the new auditorium.  We currently occupy 28,500 square feet of the property.  In 2003, the church purchased the current warehouse property.  We also purchased 65 acres of undeveloped land on Upland Ave, north of Marsha Sharp Freeway, where we have architectural plans for our new building.

Through the years, our congregation has grown and our influence in West Texas has broadened.  Pastor Bracken and Donna are responsible for pioneering three other Family Harvest Churches in West Texas; Post, Seminole and Plainview.  All three churches are thriving and growing with full time pastors who are commissioned out of Harvest Church, Lubbock.

Another way we are achieving the vision to go into all the world is through the training and educating of Christian leaders and ministers through our Bible School, Harvest Ministry Seminary.  HMS is located here on our facilities using our very own instructors.  Our charter class began in the fall of 2004 with 50 students.

Harvest Children’s Academy, a state licensed childcare facility began in 2006, as an outreach to our community, providing full-time day care to children ages 0-6, and after school care for ages 6-12.

Meet Our Pastors:

Dr. Bracken Christian is the senior pastor of Harvest Church—Lubbock.  He pioneered the church in 1992.  With an apostolic call on his life, he started and was the initial pastor of the three other area Family Harvest Churches in Post, Seminole and Plainview.  Internationally, Dr. Christian has helped influence church planting in El Salvador and Ghana, Africa.  As well as founding Harvest Ministry Seminary, and serving as professor of pastoral ministry in the Bible School, Dr. Christian travels internationally to minister on inspiring faith, vision, and excellence.

Dr. Christian attended Texas Tech University, is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and also holds a Doctorate in Theology. Prior to establishing Harvest Church, he served in several churches as Youth Minister, Associate Minister and led Praise and Worship.  In 2008, he celebrated 25 years in ministry.

Donna is first and always devoted to helping her husband and pastor fulfill God’s call on his life.  She has been equally committed to raising their four children, who are all serving God and fulfilling His plan for their lives.  She uses her administrative gift in every area of church life.  In the church’s beginning years before any staff was in place, Donna established the children’s ministry, prayer group ministry, connect group ministry and handled all the business and accounting issues.  Donna continues to help oversee the business of the church and coordinates the women’s ministry of Harvest Church.
